MICRO-NEEDLING
What is Micro-Needling?
Micro-Needling is a skin treatment that uses tiny, controlled needles to gently create micro-injuries on the surface of your skin. This stimulates your body’s natural healing process and boosts collagen and elastin — the proteins that keep your skin firm, smooth, and youthful.
We offer SkinPen® Micro-Needling — a cutting-edge, the first FDA-cleared Micro-Needling device designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. Unlike older Micro-Needling devices, SkinPen® uses precision-controlled technology to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, stimulating your body’s natural healing response.

How does Micro-Needling work?
Micro-Needling works by creating controlled, microscopic punctures in the skin using a device with fine, medical-grade needles — such as the SkinPen®, the first FDA-cleared Micro-Needling device. These micro-injuries penetrate the epidermis (outer layer of skin) and reach into the upper layers of the dermis. While the punctures are very small and superficial, they are enough to activate the body’s natural wound-healing response.
The process of Micro-Needling happens in three distinct phases:

1. Inflammation Phase (Immediate Response)
As soon as the micro-channels are created, the body responds by:
-
Increasing blood flow to the area
-
Releasing growth factors such as TGF-β (Transforming Growth Factor Beta) and PDGF (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor)
-
Sending immune cells to disinfect, remove debris, and signal repair
This initiates the cascade of collagen production.

2. Proliferation Phase (Days 2–7)
Fibroblasts — the skin’s collagen-producing cells — become activated and begin to:
-
Lay down new collagen type III
-
Stimulate production of elastin and glycosaminoglycans (which help retain moisture)
-
Create new capillaries (angiogenesis) to improve circulation
-
Begin tissue remodelling
Skin texture and tone begin to improve during this phase.

3. Remodelling Phase (Weeks to Months After Treatment)
Over time, the newly formed collagen type III is converted into collagen type I — the strong, organized collagen found in youthful, healthy skin. This results in:
-
Firmer, smoother skin
-
Diminished fine lines and wrinkles
-
Reduced appearance of acne scars and enlarged pores
-
Overall improvement in tone, elasticity, and resilience
Because collagen regeneration is a gradual process, results continue to develop for up to 3–6 months after the
